David Bushman, CPA
David Bushman is the founder and managing partner of Bushman Accounting and has been involved in accounting and finance since 2006.
He graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters Degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Taxation. He also attended Utah Valley University and graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting.
David worked in the operations department for a local bank in Utah county for almost four years while attending college. Upon graduating with his masters degree he was hired as a tax auditor for the Utah State Tax Commission where he performed corporate tax reviews and audits for five years.
After the state of Utah David worked in public accounting with a small CPA firm in the Salt Lake area for two years.
These experiences have allowed David to have a greater perspective on the many regulatory requirements individuals and businesses owners face. His experience as a tax auditor gives him advanced knowledge as to what government agencies are looking for from bookkeepers, on a tax return and how to navigate government reviews and audits.
David also saw the value for clients to have a CPA that is educated in various areas of business; he also has a Life and Health Insurance license, Series 6 and 63 licenses.
David grew up in Utah and loves spending time with his family. He lived in Holland for a year in his youth and served an LDS mission in McAllen, Texas speaking Spanish. His love for the outdoors was increased when his family built a cabin near Yellowstone National Park and considers Montana his second home. He enjoys getting to know and serving those in his community, playing sports, four wheeling and snowmobiling.
Fae Whitaker
Fae Whitaker has been with the Bushman Accounting team since 2018 and has been leading the charge as the Operations Manager since 2022. In her role, she keeps everything running smoothly by overseeing the firm’s tax and bookkeeping services and making sure all tax-related tasks are handled with precision and efficiency.
Fae’s a pro at spotting tax-saving opportunities for clients and finding ways to streamline processes to keep everything as efficient as possible. She also plays an essential role in managing tax audits and ensures that all tax returns are filed correctly and on time.
As a team player, Fae works closely with our CPA and office manager to make sure everyone is on the same page and working toward the best possible results for our clients. She’s also dedicated to supporting her team by providing training and creating an environment that encourages growth and excellence.
Working for Bushman Accounting keeps Fae busy, but she enjoys playing board games and watching movies with her two kids.
Pam Sparks
Pam has called Utah home for over 30 years, having originally grown up in the scenic state of Colorado. With over a decade of experience in bookkeeping and financial operations, Pam has built a strong reputation for precision, reliability, and leadership. Her career includes serving as General Manager for both a property management firm and a successful HVAC company—roles in which she not only managed day-to-day operations but also oversaw full financial cycles, staff coordination, and client relations.
Since joining Bushman Accounting in 2022, Pam has quickly become one of our top tax return producers and is widely recognized as our in-house expert on both bookkeeping and payroll services. Her passion for digging into complex tax issues and resolving them efficiently has made her an invaluable resource to clients and colleagues alike. Whether it’s cleaning up years of disorganized records or navigating nuanced payroll challenges, Pam brings a deep well of knowledge, an investigative mindset, and a can-do attitude to every task.
Outside of her role at Bushman Accounting, Pam and her husband own and operate a thriving small business in Utah County. She continues to manage the books and process payroll for the company, gaining firsthand insight into the unique challenges and needs of small business owners.
When she’s not working with numbers or solving tax puzzles, Pam enjoys spending time with her husband and their beloved pets, spoiling her grandkids, quilting, exploring Utah’s backroads on a 4-wheeler, or simply relaxing at home. Her diverse experiences and warm, down-to-earth personality make her not just a skilled professional—but a true asset to our team and the clients we serve.
Jill Johnson
Jill Johnson is a dedicated Staff Accountant at Bushman Accounting, bringing over 20 years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting to her role. With a strong focus on tax preparation and small business bookkeeping, Jill combines technical expertise with a passion for helping clients navigate their financial needs with clarity and confidence.
Jill holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Accounting and Business Management from the University of Phoenix. For the past three years, she has been a valued member of the Bushman Accounting team, known for her attention to detail, reliable work ethic, and approachable nature.
Outside of the office, Jill enjoys crafting, volunteering at and watching dirt stock car races, and spending quality time with her family. She also runs a small metal art business, where her creativity and precision shine in a whole new way.
Kolton Elmer
Kolton has lived in many different states in his live but considers Utah his home. Since his father was in the military, Kolton lived in Wisconsin, Colorado, Idaho, and even Hawaii always returning to Utah.
Kolton is currently a CPA candidate and has two bachelor’s degrees. His degrees are in Spanish pre-medicine and accounting from Southern Utah University. He started his accounting career with Eide Bailly LLP. For 3 years, he performed bookkeeping and other outsourced accounting and management services for clients in various industries including healthcare, construction, and retail. After working as a bookkeeper, he was promoted to the role of Audit Associate where he performed comprehensive audits, reviews, and compilations always delivering high quality work. He began working for Bushman Accounting in 2025 and is a valued member of the accounting team.
Kolton spends his free time playing board games with his wife, Samantha, and their two adorable children. He can also be found playing the piano, playing video games, or skiing double black diamonds in the winter.
